The University of Montana 3rd Annual ECE Summit

I am a credentialed classroom teacher who has spent the past few years developing an approach toward standards-based education through a lens of social-emotional learning via metacognition. Inspired by my years in California public, private, and charter schools, my focus now is helping schools, teachers, and families troubleshoot obstacles in personalizing education and preparing students for success in career and/or college. I enjoy spending my time researching across academic disciplines and letting out steam as a hard rock musician. Having released my first book, Creating a Self Directed Learning Environment, I continue to write and speak on topics related to what I've come to call "Self Directed Schooling" at conferences and with schools locally and internationally.
