About me

Hi, I’m Teacher Joy!
For over 33 years, I’ve been bringing joy-filled learning to children, families, and educators. As the author of the Amazon best-seller How to Teach Joy: A Simple Guide to Nurturing a Child’s Development, I’m passionate about ‘Play on purpose’—helping kids learn through fun, meaningful experiences.
For the past 8 years, I’ve been a STEM presenter, teaching exciting topics like baby STEM, STEM in the garden, classroom inclusion and STEM, STEM magic, coaching inquiry, and STEM PLAY! I love making learning an adventure through hands-on play, music, and movement.
Beyond teaching, I’ve been an adult leader for Cub Scouts, a community volunteer, and an advocate for educators and parents. Most importantly, I’m a proud mom to three incredible sons who inspire me every day.
Wherever I go, my mission is simple: spread joy, spark curiosity, and make learning fun!
